About Us

Gujarati Samaj, Balangir, is a cultural as well as spiritual symbol of Gujarati people who are living in Balangir.

The tireless effort from leading people like Late Shri Tribhoovandas Bhammar, Late Shri Mahesh Chandra Raval and Late Shri Damji Bhai Padharia to unite and to keep alive the culture among the Gujaratis who migrated from Gujarat and scattered in Balangir gave birth to the “GUJARATI SAMAJ”. In 1956, under their initiative they started celebrating Navaratri. Since then all the Gujaratis are maintaining and celebrating cultural programmes like Gujarati New Year, Annkot, Jalaram Jayanti, Holika Dahan, Ram Navami, Janamastami and Navaratri.

With small but continuous effort, financially and morally, from the members as well as the generous people from within Balangir as well as outside, we were able to acquire land for the organisation where the Samaj’s Building was first constructed. The completion of building not only boosted the morale of the members but was also applauded by the people all around. Here we organise many cultural programmes as well as social purposes like marriage, thread ceremony etc.

Today Gujarati Samaj, Balangir is a well-known and well-organised organisation which has left its mark every time for its culture and spirit.

We are heartily thankful to all those generous pupil of Samaj as well as outside of Samaj and also outside of Balangir who have supported both financially and physically for the present position of samaj and expect the same in future also.
